Country houses and little villages, they’re the ideal destinations for some hours of amusement and they can be reached in few minutes: the house Villa Caprile of the eighteent century with its amusing water games; Villa Imperiale, ancient shooting lodge of the Della Rovere’s; the villages of Fiorenzuola and Casteldimezzo on the northern-eastern coast, Novilara and Candelara at south-west, four localities with wonderful landscapes.
In the historical centre, besides the ancient buildings and churches, Rocca Costanza and Palazzo Ducale, i Musei Civici (civic museums) with remarkable paintings of famous masters and some pottery collection which are among the most important in the world; the native house of Gioacchino Rossi, known as the swan of Pesaro.

Fiorenzuola di Focare – 10 km far from Pesaro.
It’s a town of delicate enchantments, probably there isn’t any other one as beautiful as Fiorenzuola in the whole coast from Venice until Ancona. All the travellers have alwas known this town, of Roman foundation, which war made castle by the archibishops of Ravenna, when Pesaro was part of the maritime Byzantine Pentacoli.
It was the reason of the quarrel between the Church of Ravenna and the community of Pesaro, and later between the Malatestas of Rimini and the ones of Pesaro, and its destiny was suffered and sad.
Fiorenzuola di Focara is the only medieval suburb 177 m above sea level.
The quote by Dante Alighieri "Poi farà si ch'al vento di Focara - non farà lor mestier voto né preco" (Divina Commedia Inferno, XXVIII, vv.89-90), made this little suburb above the sea particularly famous. In the territory which is part of the Parco Monte San Bartolo, Fiorenzuola di Focara offers a natural little beach, with sand and pebbles, formed during the ages in front of the limpid sea.

Casteldimezzo
Situato a circa 200 metri sul livello del mare Il castello ebbe vari nomi: Gaiola, Galliola , Gazoleto. L'attuale denominazione (castello che sta in mezzo tra Fiorenzuola e Gabicce) prevalse nel XIV secolo.
Oggi, coi pochissimi abitanti, rimangono solo frammenti delle mura medioevali; è invece esistente la chiesa parrocchiale di S.Apollinare e S.Cristoforo , la cui dedicazione ricorda l'appartenenza del castello agli arcivescovi di Ravenna.
Memoria antica di questo suggestivo paese di pescatori è un'opera veneratissima posta all'altare maggiore: il quattrocentesco Crocifisso che, secondo una leggenda cara agli abitanti, fu trovato in riva al mare dentro una grande cassa. Nella parrocchiale, rimaneggiata nella pianta e alterata nella posizione dell'ingresso, è visibile anche un'importante tavola cinquecentesca di Francesco Zaganelli da Cotignola: la "Madonna col Bambino e i Santi Apollinare e Cristoforo" |
